Though my passion truly lies in working with children, adult education provides an opportunity to teach in new and exciting ways.
I find adult education to be uniquely collaborative, in that adults often have a clear sense of their interests, passions, and skills which can then be integrated into my teaching. Adult education brings many challenges as well, and as an area with which I am less familiar, I consider adult education to be a learning edge for myself- a point of potential growth. |
Residential Learning Community Facilitator (Resident Advisor)During my undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University I served as a Community Facilitator (SCU's version of an RA) in one of the on campus Residential Learning Communities.
My responsibilities included planning and facilitating community events, creating educational materials, and serving as a mentor and role model to residents. I received training and gained experience in responding a wide array of incidents, from conflict management to mental health emergencies. |
