about me

Picture
Hi there! My name is Haley Green and I am an educator currently based in the Seattle area. I grew up on Bainbridge Island, but I spent four years in the Bay Area completing my undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University.

In the fall of 2018, I returned to Washington for graduate school. I recently completed Master of Education (M.Ed.) through the UW. At the same time, I taught environmental education at IslandWood.

Looking forward, I hope to transition into classroom teaching, my lifelong dream.

I learned my love for nature early on, and my passion for working with children not long after.

At the age of 16 I announced to my parents that I wanted to be a teacher and haven't looked back since.

My path to becoming a educator began to take shape when I returned to YMCA Camp Orkila, where I spent many summers as a child, as a cabin counselor for 8 and 9 year old campers. It felt like coming full circle.

Coming full circle once again, I have returned to IslandWood to teach the same school overnight program I attended in the fourth grade. It has been an incredible experience to be able to provide my students with many of the experiences I remember from my time as an IslandWood student over ten years ago.
